Nora Roberts' Born In... Trilogy

I enjoy Nora Roberts’ trilogies for their characters more often than the plots. This one was a bit bland compared to her later ones, but still intriguing enough to capture me for a couple of days.

Lords and Ladies by Terry Pratchett

This was the third Terry Pratchett book I’ve read – and I had to pick one of the few he says isn’t stand-alone. He recommended that it be read after one of the Witches of Lancre books (I forget which). I found the book to be alright as a stand-alone book, but it would have been more enjoyable if I knew more about the characters from before, the witches especially.

Hearts in Atlantis

Hearts in Atlantis by Stephen King

A collection of short stories that are just vaguely linked with each other, with an overriding theme of a particular generation that failed to fulfil their potential, according to King. Naturally, it was the connection with The Dark Tower that drew me – I wanted to know more about Ted’s “little vacation”.

The Invisible Ring

The Invisible Ring by Anne Bishop

Having read bits and pieces of the book before actually sitting down to read it all the way through did take away some of the mystery, but it was still enough to keep me interested in what actually happened next.
